A separate page detailing the nature of each of these disasters and how to both prepare and cope with them has been developed, primarily through the efforts of a neighborhood resident, Stuart Brown.
While these pages, and related links, contain vast quantities of information on how to prepare for a disaster and what to do during and after one, the best preparation one can make is to train for these events. Nothing can replace hands-on, face-to-face instruction and practice to develop and ingrain the skills necessary to act decisively and appropriately in the face of crisis. Training allows you to avoid becoming a victim or, by your actions or inactions, cause others to become victims of a disaster. The Training page provides information on obtaining such training.
