Loch Lomond Marina
Overview
The Loch Lomond Marina is located on Pt. San Pedro Road
and bordered by three subdivisions; San Pedro Cove, Bayside
Acres and Loch Lomond. The first two subdivisions have
direct borders with this property while the Loch Lomond subdivision
is separated from it by Pt. San Pedro Road. The Village at Loch Lomond Marina development was given final approval by all agencies and the City of San Rafael in late 2007. Now that the development has been approved, the News page of this website will keep you abreast of information related to construction plans, dates and other events affecting the neighborhoods surrounding the development.
History and Other Information
Until General Plan 2020
(GP2020) was approved by the City
of San Rafael in 2004, this entire property was designated
Marine-Related and could only be used for marine-related
purposes and neighborhood-serving commercial services. GP2020 (specifically, section NH-118)
changed that designation so that a substantial portion of
the property is now permitted to have mixed-use and residential development.
The Loch Lomond Marina Committee (LLMC), a committee of
the Point San Pedro Road Coalition, was originally formed to
insure that the then in-development GP2020 met the needs and requirements
of the neighbors of the Marina property. Now that the GP2020 is complete and approved by the City of San Rafael, the LLMC then focused on having an impact on
the planning process and the resultant developer's plans from neighborhoods directly affected
by these activities and from citizens of San Rafael in general
who use this property for recreational purposes.
The Archives is a repository of letters to the editor, articles, documents and other information related to the issues surrounding the Village at Loch Lomond Marina development.
Insuring that the resulting development is acceptable to the neighborhoods and residences surrounding the marina as well as to the general San Rafael community requires constant vigilance from the citizenry. The
San Pedro Road Coalition represents the community and will elicit support from
the community as the construction process proceeds. We invite you to join us in this effort and to keep us informed if you obtain any pertinent information by using the form on the Committee page.
