Loch Lomond Marina

Committee Objectives

During the initial years, the LLMC's primary focus has been on participating in the San Rafael General Plan 2020 drafting process. The LLMC has consistently expressed the view that the marina should remain the primary focus of any future development and housing should be a minor addition.

With the completion of the GP2020, the LLMC's focus is now on participating in the activities related to the development plans of Thompson/Dorfman and all the governmental agencies involved in those activities. These include the San Rafael Planning Division and Design Review Board, the Bay Conservation and Development Commission, the San Rafael Parks and Recreations Commission, the Army Corps of Engineers, and many others.

Throughout this process, the LLMC has remained steadfast on five major points obtained from neighborhood input:

  • Any development should focus on Marina usage of the property.
  • Residential development should be low-to-medium density. Traffic is a major issue with all residents.
  • Development should be compatible with surrounding neighborhoods, including height compatibility.
  • Strong emphasis on preservation and enhancement of existing marsh, wetlands, breakwaters, and open space.
  • Protection of views – not just view corridors.

Your continued involvement and input is extremely important!
