The bi-monthly meeting of the Coalition’s Marina Committee (Committee) with the various agencies and entities involved in The Village at Loch Lomond Marina development was held by Zoom on Monday, March 18, 2024. [NOTE: These meetings are held every other month.]
The following text references various Village property owners, governmental agencies, companies and other entities, often by acronym. A detailed description of these entities can be found on The Village-Who’s Who page.
Following is a summary report on the items covered at this meeting:
Harbormaster’s Office: There continues to be no change in status in this item or the other SHM items. SHM stated that there is a team at SHM actively working on this issue as well as the Marina Services Building, Yacht Club refacing, and the S.F. Bay Trail segment at the boat launch ramp. This is the same report that was given in the previous several meetings. SHM was asked by S.R. City Councilmember, Maribeth Bushey, to relay to SHM the desire for more transparent communication on these issues as well as meaningful progress, especially with the use of temporary modular trailers over a much longer time than originally anticipated.
Yacht Club Refacing: [See the Harbormaster’s Office above]

Residential Housing Construction: Trumark said the current construction continues to proceed well given the good weather. Trumark felt that all construction, with the exception of the residence on the sales office parcel, should be completed by April 2024 with the final residence completed by June or July 2024. All public pathways should be open to the public by end of April 2024. Only six townhomes and one stand-alone residence remains to be sold.
The fencing installed between the residences and the wetlands on the east side of this development was constructed using a 6′ coated chain-link fence. However, BCDC required this to be a 3′ fence. Trumark has re-installed this fence at 3′ as well as completed a roughly 100′ missing span along Loch Lomond Drive. It is just awaiting final approval from the S.R. Planning Department.
East Jetty (playground): While the playground is now open, some construction netting to protect the new plantings and irrigation remains and no maintenance is being conducted. Only MVA currently has responsibility for this jetty since the work is not complete. As a result, the City has not accepted this parcel under the Mello Roos District umbrella for ongoing maintenance. The lack of maintenance is generating an unsafe condition, both due to the weeds and to damage and deterioration of the playground equipment.
MVA has been unresponsive for quite some time to CDD and DPW requests to complete this work as well as other items on their punch list. DPW was asked to investigate alternatives to encouraging MVA to complete the required work including contacting MVA, their bonding company and BCDC. Councilmember Maribeth Bushey echoed the need for involvement in these issues by the S.R. City Attorney and City Council to move MVA toward completion.
Mixed-Unit Building: The original permit was for a two-story building at the corner of Pt. San Pedro Road and Loch Lomond Drive (the site of the currently empty dry cleaner and dentist offices) with commercial space on the first floor and five condos on the second floor. Andy Bachich, who purchased this parcel from MVA, is planning a revised permit calling for 10 condos and no commercial space. No status update was available at this meeting.
