The SIR OrganizationSIR refers to two organizations:
(1) State organization: Sons In Retirement, Incorporated is the parent organization. It is a 501(c)(4) corporation established in 1959.
(2) 100+ branches: Each is an independent 501(c)(4) corporation.
The specific purpose of this corporation is to provide for the welfare of retired men from all walks of life who are pursuing a common goal, the enjoyment of their later years with dignity and pride, by assisting these senior citizens to renew former friendships and associations, and affording them an opportunity to make new friends through association with other retired men who also face the particular problems that confront men upon their retirement. The assets of the corporation are irrevocably dedicated to the foregoing purpose.
End of Life Choices CaliforniaEnd of Life Choices California (EOLCCA) is a state-wide, non-profit that provides information, referrals, and support to you and your loved ones to help navigate end-of-life options. All services are provided at no charge and are directed empathetically and without judgment to meet your needs. EOLCCA offers a phone and email line to answer your questions — including:
(1) Documents needed for advance care planning
(2) Providing guidance in discussing the topic with your family and medical team
(3) Advocating for yourself, as well as understanding the spectrum of end-of-life options including hospice and palliative care, voluntary stopping eating and drinking, and the End of Life Option Act (the legal option for terminally ill people to receive a prescription to peacefully fall asleep and die)
