Conservation & Environmental Organizations

Resilient ShoresResilient Shore focuses on: (1) shoreline resilience/flood risk reduction; (2) transportation alternatives, and (3) risk management and insurance. We’ve been building a multidisciplinary team and connecting with decision-makers, researchers, and stakeholders since 2015.
Marin Conservation LeagueServing as both watchdog and advocate, MCL’s hard-working and vigilant committees monitor a broad range of planning and land use decisions county-wide to ensure Marin’s ecological values are maintained and restored.
Marin Audubon SocietyThe Marin Audubon Society was established in 1956 as part of the effort to prevent development of houses on Richardson Bay tidelands. In our early years, Marin Audubon Society (MAS) was one of the founders of Audubon Canyon Ranch. MAS also was instrumental in protecting Bothin Marsh in Mill Valley, and the Marin Islands National Wildlife Refuge in San Rafael, which supports the largest heron rookery in San Francisco Bay. MAS restores wetlands on its properties, then donates many of them to the California Department of Fish and Game and the Marin County Open Space District.
