The San Rafael City Council is considering lowering speed limits on select roads throughout the City at its Regular Meeting on July 20th at 6pm. The proposal for Point San Pedro Road is 30 mph for .75 miles along Third Street from Grand to Marina Boulevard and 35 mph from Marina to Porto Bello Drive.

City staff have completed Phase 2 of AB 43 efforts to promote roadway safety, and will propose lowering speed limits by five miles per hour on eligible streets throughout the city. City staff’s review considered safety, land use, and the presence of children, seniors, bicyclists, pedestrians, and other vulnerable travelers. See the map for details.
We encourage you to attend the meeting if you would like to voice an opinion on the speed limits on Pt San Pedro Road. You can find more information on the City website here: https://www.cityofsanrafael.org/phase-2-assembly-bill-43-speed-limit-reductions/
