In advance of our next monthly meeting with the City agencies (August 20, 2018), we have received the following information:
The S.R. Public Works Department has issued a new grading permit for the surcharge work at the site. Their new schedule is to start on Monday 8/20.
Based on the schedule, MVA will start work in the old market area and parking lot next week. The following two weeks will be for movement of the larger stockpile of dirt at the west side of the property next to The Cove HOA. Following the surcharge work around mid-September, they anticipate cleaning up the area near the proposed mixed-use building.
The conditions of their grading permit will be the same as the one that expired at the end of May. The goal will be to have the surcharging in place before mid-October, in time for the start of the rainy season.
The proposed plan does not include surcharging the area under the Regional Water Quality Control Board restriction which is were the old dry cleaners was located. The fill and foundation for those lots would then be modified to use light density fill (such as lava rock or an engineered product). The details for that are being worked out by MVA’s geotechnical engineer with the permit approval process to follow.
