The following was posted on NextDoor by the Marin County Dept. of Public Works:
Bayside Park is a Marin County pocket-park located on Point San Pedro Road in San Rafael. The park offers expansive bay views and waterfront breezes that are enjoyed by the surrounding neighborhoods and visitors to the area.
Due to exposure to nature and the elements, as well as extensive public usage over the years, rehabilitation of the park is now necessary. The Marin County Department of Public Works (DPW) will work with Marin County Parks to provide a range of improvements next year.
The park needs accessibility upgrades throughout including properly graded paths and sidewalks, new benches with accessible adjacent pads, new trash receptacles and an accessible parking space. Landscaping improvements and eco-friendly irrigation will also be implemented. The tree layout will be modified to prevent future root uplift of paths, so that the new pavement remains nice and accessible for years to come.
Design will occur in early 2020 with construction targeted for late summer – early fall 2020. More information will be made available as the project develops. If you have questions in the meantime, please email Erin Riley, DPW Capital Planning & Senior Project Manager, at eriley@marincounty.org.
