On July 16, 2022, our Disaster Preparedness committee hosted a well-attended Community Wildfire Forum presented by members of the San Rafael Fire Department’s Wildfire Mitigation team. The attached copy of the powerpoint presentation contains a summary of the key subjects covered and resources you can access.
Excellent information was provided to inform our community about how to adapt to wildfire including:
- vegetation management
- fire behavior
- personal preparedness
- evacuation
- defensible space and
- home hardening.
For those who are removing flammable vegetation in order to create a buffer around their homes, information is attached about how to protect birds and their nests.
