Our fire prevention minded goats from Goats R Us are moving to the Peacock Point and Peacock Court neighborhood today. The goats will be eating up hazardous brush and fire fuel and improving our safety measures for homes near the open space. Goat grazing is an ecologically and economically sustainable management tool for fire safety.
This is the first of four neighborhood fire safety pilot projects planned in San Rafael over the next couple of months.
The goats recently completed work in the Canalways area and along drainage adjacent to the I-580. The goats will be managed round-the-clock.
