At their December 9th meeting, the San Rafael Planning Commission approved a revised 14-unit condominium project at 25 Loch Lomond Drive, a site within the Loch Lomond Marina development. The three-story building will replace an earlier mixed-use plan that stalled for years due to lack of demand for commercial space. The project includes ground-level parking, one affordable unit, and shared outdoor amenities, and is covered under the environmental review completed for the original 2007 marina plan. While some nearby residents raised concerns about density and design, commissioners cited compliance with state housing laws and the benefit of finally redeveloping a long-vacant property.
