Dear Marin County Neighbors:
Working in accordance with city, county and state guidelines, we are notifying you of a special event that will be taking place Saturday and Sunday mornings 8:30am-12:30pm, October 3 and October 4, at McNears Beach Park.
The eighteenth annual SGRAIL Triathlon & Trail Half Marathon (formerly known as the Endurance Festival), a family-oriented community event. The Triathlon and Half Marathon are combined to occupy a single weekend to reduce overall impact to residents and the park.
We would appreciate your cooperation and support, as there may be a minor temporary detour in your neighborhood to ensure the safety of everyone.
On Saturday, October 3 from 8:30am until approximately 12:30pm, Point San Pedro Road will be closed from the east entrance of Biscayne Dr through China Camp State Park. Additionally, eastbound lanes of San Pedro will be closed from Biscayne Dr to Riviera Dr. Westbound access on this segment will remain open. There will be no access through China Camp, but the Peacock Gap Golf Course is accessible via Riviera Dr. ALL residents in the area will be able to get to and from their homes.
On Sunday, October 4 starting at 8:30 AM until 12:30 PM, there will be CHP presence to assist athletes crossing Point San Pedro Rd at Biscayne Dr.
There will be plenty of detour and event signs in place with police and volunteers managing traffic along the course. Our goal is to minimize inconvenience, but residents may experience a minor delay, for a few minutes only, during the designated times.
We will welcome athletes from all over the world to experience Marin and compete against our strong local multi-sport community. And we welcome you to join us in sharing the beauty and spirit of this special place.
