Loch Lomond Marina Update

On Monday June 20, 2016, the Coalition’s Marina Committee met with the S.R. Community Development Department and S.R. Dept. of Public Works (DPW) for our regular monthly review of the developments at The Village at Loch Lomond Marina. The public is encouraged to communicate with the Marina Committee using the Contact the Marina Committee form to raise any issues or concerns so that they may be brought to the City’s attention.

The following items were discussed:

Public Hearings: There will be a public hearing focused on the landscaping plan west of Loch Lomond Drive. It will be held at 7:00 pm on July 6th before the Design Review Board in the S.R. City Hall chambers. Public comment will be allowed.

Spits and Breakwater: Before any more of the public area improvements can be accepted, the Mello-Roos needs to be activated so there will be funding for maintenance of the public area. This will involve action by the City Council and the hiring of a contractor to do the maintenance.  BCDC has assigned Maggie Weber to be the Project Analyst for the work at the Marina that falls under their jurisdiction. BCDC is concerned about some code enforcement issues and flooding issues.

Trashcans: The unsecured trashcan at the end of the breakwater path has been removed so that it will not end up in the bay.

Dog Regulation Signage and Bags: There has been concern from the public about dog owners failing to follow the laws that mandate that dogs must be on leash in all parts of the public access area and owners must pick up any dog feces and dispose of it properly. Enforcement is carried out by the Marin Humane Society. Those who wish to report violators may call the general patrol department at 415-506- 6223.

Plates in PSPR by Chicken Point: Since this area is in the County, the City does not have any detailed information. The plates may be related to fixing some crushed conduit needed for the Marina project.

Andy’s Market: Work on the market is going slowly. No revised building shell completion date has been provided. There has been a request to change the roof color to a lighter green.
