Several major roadway improvements along the Point San Pedro Road corridor have begun, with construction occurring at several locations through October to enhance safety for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists. Work on the retaining wall project is already underway resulting in a lane closure.
The County and the City of San Rafael invite the community to join an open house on Friday, April 17, from 5-6:30 PM at San Pedro Elementary School Multipurpose Room regarding the road improvements.
The corridor projects include:
- HAWK Pedestrian Signal Installation at Summit Avenue
- Retaining Wall Replacement
- Slurry Seal and re-striping of Point San Pedro Road
- Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) Installation at Knight, Peacock, and Riviera Drive

Drivers and bicyclists along Point San Pedro Road and nearby areas may experience temporary traffic delays, lane closures, and construction activity during work hours as projects progress over the next several months.
