Traffic Signal Work at Loch Lomond Marina

The following was received by the Coalition today from the S.R. Public Works Department:

I received a schedule from the contractor for the traffic signal work at the intersection with Point San Pedro Road [at Lochinvar and Loch Lomond Drive]. There will be lane closures while loops are installed. During the changeover for the signals scheduled for Thursday 1/21, it is likely that the intersection will operate as a 4-way stop. Please keep in mind that some of this work is subject to the weather, so the dates may change. I anticipate sending an updated schedule if that occurs.

  • Friday (1/15) – Begin the installation of the detector hand holes, conduit   etc.
  • Tuesday & Wednesday (1/19 & 20) – Install all the new loops, pave the hand holes that were installed on prior Friday, replace signal wire where possible.
  • Thursday (1/21) – Shut down the traffic signals, place stop & stop ahead signs, remove and replace all  signal wire/cable,  remove & replace the type I-b poles with new signal equipment, splice all conductors, activate the signal system and remove the temporary camera.

Thank you,
