This from the S.R. Dept. of Public Works:
Construction at the intersection of Second Street and Grand Avenue is due to begin in the next two weeks. The City has retained Northern Pacific Corporation as the prime contractor to complete the following work: curb ramp installation on all four corners, minor storm drain improvements, replacement of the existing traffic signal, and reconfiguration of the intersection, including removal of the triangular island (i.e., pork-chop) on the southwest corner.
We are making every effort to minimize impacts to the surrounding businesses, however, please understand that construction may cause increased traffic congestion during the daytime hours. Occasionally work may occur at night between the hours of 9 PM and 6 AM; however, we expect most work to be performed between 7 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday. The work is due to last through the end of the year, weather permitting.
