As part of the original construction permits for The Village at Loch Lomond Marina, the developer was required repave a portion of Pt. San Pedro Road at the Loch Lomond Drive intersection as well as a portion at the emergency entrance further east that was trenched for utilities during earlier phases of construction. The permit required that this repaving be done with the same specialized rubberized, sound-deadening asphalt as was originally used in the repaving of the entire roadway.
This specialized asphalt was produced at the asphalt facilities of the S.R. Rock Quarry (SRRQ). Recently, it had been determined that SRRQ would be producing that asphalt in October. However, the Pt. San Pedro Road Coalition just learned that SRRQ will be producing the asphalt now and it will be available this Friday, October 1. As a result, Ghilotti Construction will be grinding the pavement on Thursday and paving on Friday.
Loops and other traffic control devices will be installed next week and the striping the following week. They plan to keep one lane open in each direction at all times and have asked S.R. to change the light at the intersection with Lochnivar/Loch Lomond Drive to a flashing red during the operation. Please be prepared for some delays during this grinding and repaving period.
