Loch Lomond Marina Update

The monthly meeting of the Coalition’s Marina Committee (Committee) with the various agencies and entities involved in The Village at Loch Lomond Marina development that would normally be held on Monday October 17 was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. The next meeting will be November 21.

Meanwhile, a status report from MVA on the progress of the work on the breakwater connector and playground was submitted by email. A great deal of progress was made on the connector work, with some additional photos posted on the Photos of Work in Progress page.

They have completed the low tide work on the kayak launch for Armor-flex block and supporting rip-rap/anchoring rock at the bottom and sides of launch the ramp. In addition, they have poured the east and west abutments for the boardwalk, poured the footings and piers, and have started setting the beams and joists, as well as the handrail posts.  Decking should start next week. The contractor has officially closed down the playground this week, and that work has started to bolster the jetty’s resistance to high tide and king tide flooding.  The contractor remains very confident they can still complete the project this year.
